Barakat Contemporary – Peles Empire

바라캇 컨템포러리에서 개최한 아티스트 듀오 ‘펠레스 엠파이어(Peles Empire)’의 전시 인터뷰 영상이다. 2005년부터 시작된 작가들의 예술 활동 배경과 초기 작업 과정, 그리고 루마니아 펠레스 성(Peles Castle)의 역사를 재해석하는 작업 컨셉을 다룬다. 사진, 조각, 설치 등 다양한 매체를 혼합하여 원본과 복제, 동양과 서양의 역사적 관점을 교차시키는 작업 방식과 이를 구현하는 예술적 고민을 작가들의 인터뷰를 통해 전달하는 전시 아카이브 및 작가 인터뷰 형식으로 구성되어 있다.

This is an interview video with the artist duo ‘Peles Empire’ held at Barakat Contemporary. It covers the background of their artistic practice since 2005, their early creative processes, and the conceptual framework of reinterpreting the history of Peles Castle in Romania. Through the artists’ interviews, it conveys their methodology of mixing diverse mediums—such as photography, sculpture, and installation—to intersect themes of original versus reproduction and Eastern versus Western historical perspectives, as well as the artistic inquiries behind their work. It is structured in an exhibition archive and artist interview format.
